Listening to the song Circle you, Circle you by Miku and Luka it gives a story with the game Kagome Kagome will help you understand the word. In the Vocaloids song the children formed a circle around one person, the person in the middle had to guess who stood behind them (This being the game Kagome Kagome). If they guessed right the person behind them had to die, if they guessed wrong they would die.
The childrens song that goes with the game Kagome Kagome speaks of a bird in a cage. The bird being the person in the middle and the cage being the people around them. The line in the song says(in english)
Kagome Kagome, crouch little bird inside your cage.
This gives you the translation choices of bird, pattern of holes, or cage. You can choose.

Kagome is a Japanese word, which means a pattern of holes. Where the word is derived from a combination of two words Kago and Me. The literal meaning of the word Kago is "in a basket" and me means eyes.
