Jimenez could be used a first name as well as a surname. Jimenez is used as a masculine first name. As a boy's name, it is a variant of Ximenes, Jimenes, and Ximenez. It is very rarely used a first name. The name Jimenez has a Spanish of origin and is a variant of the name Simon. Jimenez means 'listening intently'.

As a surname, it has its origin in Spain. 'Jimenez' means 'son of Jimeno or Simon. It is formed from two words: the name Jimeno and the suffix '-ez'. Jjimeno is a given name and '-ez' means 'son of'. It is also means 'gracious hearkening' or 'gracious listening' or even 'snub-nosed'.

Which is the same thing as Gracious Listening, well sort of. But the sub-nosed part confuses me a little...???
