It's a Mexican name, also sometimes translated into the Roman alphabet as "Shareni".  Which spelling used probably should depend on the culture where it's going to be used.

Xareni / Shareni was one of the gods of the P'urhépecha people of central Mexico (state of Michoacán).  An older name for the P'urhépecha is the "Tarascan".  I can't find any 100% reliable info about what Shareni was god of -- not the moon, sun or rain.  But lots of people say she was the goddess of love (all kinds of love, I imagine).

The P'urhépecha literally had dozens of gods and goddesses, though.  I think you'd need a specialist book to find the definitive answer.

Most people have heard of the Aztecs, but actually Mexico had other indigenous peoples, ethnic groups and civilisations, too.  The P'urhépecha  were just another one of these cultures.  Native Legend says that they had a valiant princess who led her people into battle against the Conquistadores, but like most of the native peoples, they were overwhelmed by European diseases as much as their superior firepower.   More about their ancient culture and civilisation.
