Lao Tzu is a very honourable name. When loosely translated to English from Chinese, it means an old master. Lao Tzu was an ancient Chinese philosopher who lived in the 6th century. Many people believe he never actually existed and was just a mythological figure. He was also known as Laozi. Confucius, a very famous philosopher, had travelled far and wide to meet Lao Tzu after hearing about him a lot. Lao Tzu had written a book called as Tao Te Ching which meant the Book of the Way and its Virtue. It is believed that Lao Tzu lived for over 600 years.
