A lot of people have this common perception that intelligent people are those who fare well in academic subjects which is quite wrong. A young intelligent person is an individual who has attained substantial amount of success within a short span of time.

An intelligent person has many qualities in him like the capacity to reason, think, solve problems, think abstractly, etc. A young intelligent person is said to be more of a visionary, who sets targets and achieves them. Even though intelligence on the whole is scrutinized quite broadly, psychologists characteristically regard intelligence to be different from creativity, personality, character as well as wisdom.

An intelligent person is thought to be exceptionally good at what he does, and finds solutions to the most tricky and difficult of problems.

I am an adult intelligent person and I have some attributes like optimistic, passionate, think logically and abstractly. I behave according to the circumstances. I believe to do smart work rather than speak.

An intelligent young person would be to described as smart, of course. They could also be described as "smarter than a 5th grader" for a humor trait.
