These are the stages of a group decision making process.

Forming is the first stage where a group is made and required to work on a specific task.

Storming is the second stage where a group thinking process differs. In this stage every group member fights to have his say. A number of problems occur with group members that lead to fights and misunderstandings.

Norming is the stage where the members try to accept their team members as they are. This kind of balances out the situation and the issues are being resolved. Everything comes closer to the normal.

Performing is that stage where the group actually starts working after the above mentioned stages are done and over with. They fully utilize their capabilities and make full use of each other in a positive way.

Adjourning stage is when the task is completed and the group breaks off. It can also happen after the storming stage when the members are not satisfied with each other.
