Mireya is one of the prettiest names I've ever heard. It's sort of an old-fashioned name in Spanish. It's the middle name of my best friend and her mom. I think I like it so much because it's rolls off your tongue and belongs to two of the sweetest people I know!
I tend to like Greek- or Italian-sounding names, because they are usually long and elegant but can be shortened to a nickname. I like Cassandra (a Greek seer), Constanzia, Athena, Daphne, Evangelina, Alessandra, and Camilla.

My favorite names are not all so unusual, but I love them.  Anna.  It was my grandmother's name.  Magdalena. Also the name of Rachel Christine because I I loved the sound of the name at first --but now that I know her for 29 years, a name that is even more meaningful and precious. Other names I love include people I have known who share that name.

My very favorite girls name is Layla. (my daughters name). I'm always asked if I named her after the Eric Clapton song.....No. I never did enjoy Eric Clapton. I actually named her that because I think it sounds beautiful and in Arabic it means...the night sky (which I was always intrigued by as a child).
