The word praise can be used both as a noun and as a verb and when you are using the word it shows approval or admiration for the thing that you are referring to. The following sentence can make you understand the word quite well: His instructors are full of praise for John as he is making a good progress in his football playing skills.

The word is not only used for a person but you can use it for god also; it can be used as the expression of worship to god. Given below is a sentence that can make you understand the word better: John is singing the songs of praise and it shows his belief in the power of the almighty.

When you are using the word as a verb it conveys the same phenomenon as that of noun and the only difference is that it describes the action rather than the act.
