On the bridle is a term used in horse racing. It is a term used to describe a horse which is going well within itself yet still having a firm grip on the bit. It is frequently used in racing circles and is a term that many an amateur may puzzle over.

Horse racing is a very popular equestrian sport. It has been around for centuries and is often referred to as The Sport of Kings. There is even evidence to prove it existed in ancient times like for instance the contest between the steeds of the giant Hrungir and the god Odin in Norse mythology. The ancient Romans also enjoyed chariot races.

There are several different forms of horse racing. Like for example, thoroughbred racing. In some parts of the USA, Canada and Europe harness racing is very popular.
