Elixir of life also known as elixir of immortality or Dancing Water is generally referred to a drink that provides the drinker with an eternal life or even eternal youth. It is also very much equivalent to the Philosopher's stone, which is a very well known drink. Mostly the practitioners of alchemy pursue for two principle reasons. One is for their very own sake they receive the gift of immortality and the second reason is they love spending all their time on practicing alchemy. It is also very well known in order to create life. It relates very well with various folklore like Enoch, Thoth, and Hermes Trismegistus, since these myths have said to have drunk the 'white drops' and have also received an eternal life.
