What you are looking for is a synonym.

It depends on which context you are using the word 'lying' as there are two definitions of the word in the English dictionary relating to either the noun (a word used to name a person, animal, place or thing), or the verb (a word that express actions, events or states of being).

Here are the two definitions of the word 'lie'-

- Noun
1. A false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.
2. Something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture: 'His flashy car was a lie that deceived no one.'
3. An inaccurate or false statement.

- Verb
1. To be in a horizontal, recumbent, or prostrate position, as on a bed or the ground; recline.
2. To rest in a horizontal or flat position: 'The book lies on the table.'
3. To be or remain in a position or state of inactivity, subjection, restraint, concealment, etc.: 'to lie in ambush.'

If you are looking for other examples relating to the noun you can use any of the following: Being dishonest, being deceitful, employing duplicity, using a falsehood, being untruthful, being insincere, being mendacious, being untruthful, bearing false witness, beguiling, distorting, exaggerating, fabricating, falsifying, fibbing, misleading and prevaricating, to name but a few.

If you wish to illustrate another expression for the verb, i.e. Lying down, you can choose from, amongst others, being prone, recumbent, lazing, lounging, reclining and stretching out.

For future reference whatever form of a word you are using you can simply type the word 'lying' plus 'synonym' into a search engine such as Google or Bing and a list of web pages will appear containing  examples you can use instead of the word you have searched.
