The state flag of Arizona has 13 rays at the top of the flag 7 are red 6 are yellow, the rays stand for the 13 original states they are also a symbol of Arizona's sunsets. The star of copper at the centre of the flag represents Arizona's copper industry, the blue at the bottom represents liberty. The flag after a few changes from the original was recognised on 17 of February 1917.
