Although there are quite a few dictionary definitions of the word achievement, sometimes it is not something that can be easily given one definition. The online dictionary has three definitions of achievement. The first definition is that something has been accomplished by superior ability; special effort; great courage; or a great or heroic deed. The second definition states that achievement is the art of achieving; attainment or accomplishment. And the final definition relates to heraldry; the full display of the armorial bearings of an individual or corporation.
But defining achievement is not as simple as this. The true definition of achievement may differ from person to person, as each one of us has a different idea of what achievement is. And each of us has a different idea of what it is to achieve something, i.e. Knowing when we have achieved something.
Simply put, achievement is all about completing goals that you have set for yourself, not necessarily making millions. It means that you have accomplished your dreams and being free from the restrains of fear and disbelief.
However, you will not be able to reach these dreams if you don't have a strong desire to do just that. Of course you will want to reach your dreams and certainly think about doing so but achievement requires a lot more than this. Two things that you also must possess are drive and a single minded way of thinking. That way you can truly be focused on your dreams and how to get there. If you can envisage your dream, exactly how you want it and how you can get there, then you can start to put things in motion. It will take a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication and probably even some downfalls and disappointments, but if you truly believe that you can do it, then you will.
