From my time in Kentucky, I can safely say it is a place.
Located on the top of a hill, or down in a valley it seemed to be a place where cars go to die.
Although it could be coincidental because we were having car troubles in a small town and these were the spots we had to go to in order to locate a replacement part.
It was a small town and they did not have any large stores around.
The place gets its name because people who would spend all day there would often need to be called to dinner, they would "holler" for them.
This is the legend we were told by our friendly small town auto mechanic. Perhaps he was just pulling our leg but it sounds possible.
