SUSPENSE DATE in the US Military means the date (and sometimes the hour) by which an activity must be done. [A] The activity may be 1) submission of a required document, 2) a physical action, such as completion of an individual task, or 3) completion of your part of a total job, when there are several parts that must be done in a particular order. [B] To decide on a suspense date, you should consider: 1) the number of man-hours required for the job, 2) availability of mam-power, 3) availability of materials and tools, 4) availability of intelligence information (plans, reference books, required reference documents, drawings, photographs, etc.), 5) availability of required transportation or logistics, 6) weather conditions, if working in an outdoor activity, and 7) any thing else that may effect scheduling and completion of the job.
