What Is The Definition Of The Word "Basterd"?

Historically, 'bastard' was the term applied to a child born illegitimately (ie, to unmarried parents) and was a social stigma. Nowadays, the word tends to get used mainly as an insult about anyone who one dislikes, since many children are now born to unmarried parents.

Basterd, mis-spell of bastard rather purposely or by accident, also used as a slight filter-bypass and a way to keep a movie title from being censored (i.e.: Inglorious Basterds), possible German spelling of "bastard"

A child born to un-married parents or people that had sex without getting married

A person who's parents were not married when they were born and a person who does not or does not know his/her father.

A child that does not know or have a father.
