The famous surname Eisenhower has a Jewish surname. It is an occupational surname implying "iron worker or iron cutter." The surname can be alternately spelled as Eisehauer.

One of the famous bearers of the surname is Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower. He served as the supreme commander of the Allied forces in Europe. A republican candidate, he was the 34 president of the US for two terms. He is credited with numerous laurels; prominent ones among them are his termination of the Korean War, pressure on the Soviet Union during the Cold War, launched the space race, built the Interstate Highway System and widened the scope of Social Security program. Eisenhower died on March 28, 1969, at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. He was a victim of congestive heart failure at the age of 78. The Eisenhower family hails from the Pennsylvania Dutch descent

Eisenhower was in no way jewish, his family were Christian Mennonites all the way.

In the 1915 West Point Yearbook he is described as "terrible Swedish Jew", but this does not mean that he was terrible, Jewish or Swedish.
It was meant as a joke.
