Usually people use that statement for saying a person's child is just like their parent.
What does "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" mean? (I kinda have an idea of what it means, but not so sure.)
That the kid is like the parent - example, if the parent is in jail, and then the kid gets arrested too -
