Proven in place reserves are reserves where everything is up and running - all equipment needed to use them is in operation etc. Proven in place reserves are usually only a small part of your total reserves, of which the bulk are probably undeveloped - for example, you may have an oil supply, but you still have to extract it, refine it etc. You can learn more about this topic here.
