General reserve is basically a reserve fund that is created by transferring certain amounts of undistributed profits. This fund is used for funding of expansions, acquisitions, paying dividends, liability payoffs, writing off losses, redemption and buying back of securities. On the other hand, Specific reserve is a fund reserve that is created for use in specific purpose.
