The surname Marini is Italian in origin and originated in an area of Italy, known as the Papal States. The literal meaning is "of the sea".  Alternatively, the surname Marini is of local origin, derived from the place named Marino, near Rome.  DiMambro is also of Italian origin, though I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact location.  According to immigration records, it only specifies Italy, but not a region.  Hope this helps.
