This is one of Gardner's 7 kinds of intelligences.  Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences defines kinesthetic intelligence as being "bodily" smart.  A person who has a propensity for kinesthetic intelligence learns best by doing and experiencing what is being taught, rather than just listening.  The kinesthetic learner will learn best if he or she has "hands on" contact with what is being taught.
