I guess it all depends on what one prefer to accept as their belief. I would say institutionalized behavior could be a persons behavior which is largely controlled by prescribed medications given to correct a mental affliction.

Whenever the term is uttered the behavior strikes to our mind in a particular cultural context. For example in a relation of teacher and student , a behavior strikes to our mind that is of respect and devotion.
