A Ginger is a person with red hair. In the UK,they practically shune them,even if they have green eyes. They say it's some kind of folklore that says anyone who has red hair is "the devil's child. That to me is so dumb, people with red hair are cool!

It means that you have red hair, like me, and freckles. Some people use it as just a way to catagorize or put a label on you, but others use it as a way to be mean and make fun of people with red hair. That is often someones lame comeback to a person with red hair, if they say something that someone may not like. People will say " shut up your just a ginger". I wish the word just didnt exist at all.

I really think its just a nasty way of saying red-head. Its not swearing but its like sayind carrot-top... Just not nice!

From what I understand, it started with the English making fun of the Irish. I don't think it's anything to get mad about. We all have names that we can be called that may get a rise out of us, but if they don't then the words lose their power.
