Transcription and translation are the two main steps involved in protein synthesis.as protein is a long polypeptide chain wound in a specific pattern as base pairs are the basic building blocks so for a protein to function in a perfect and efficient way the base sequence which make up protein molecule should be correct. This is possible only when a RNA of specific sequence produced during transcription produce protein of a specific base sequence during translation.
