It is a nickname for the given name Michael-the IRA founder Michael Connor was called Mick so in my opinion (possible uneducated...?) hence the mainstream ethnic slur connotation. Can any of you good ole' Irish boys help out a Southern Mommy of a beautiful, healthy,happy Irish baby I call Mick out....??? If nothing else he is going to be a strong 1 year old\! Lol!
