The word photogenic is an adjective which is used to describe something or someone that looks attractive in photographs. The phrases which are related to the word photogenic are photogenic drawing, photogenic epilepsy and photogenic crystalloids.

The phrase photogenic drawing is defined as the original name given by William Fox Talbot to his earliest method of recording images on camera. The phrase photogenic epilepsy is defined as reflex epilepsy which has been induced by a flickering light. The phrase photogenic crystalloids are defined as those photocytes which have crystalline-like inclusions. These crystalline-like inclusions are thought to be the actual site within the cell where the light is produced.

A photogenic face is one in which the features of the subject are attractive and look good in a photograph. In biology, it means something which produces or emits light. Some species of bacteria are photogenic. Another word which is similar in meaning to the word photogenic is the word luminiferous. In the field of medicine, many skin conditions are said to be photogenic, that is, they are produced or caused by the exposure of the skin to harsh light.
