Same as above, derived from the viking pet name Jankins. Originated from Avoch area in the Black Isles, Scotland.  The Jack name does not belong to a clan and does not have an official tartan. Tartans are only just over 200yrs old, they are a glamour and were really only worn by the wealthy.
