In actual taste tests, people are unable to tell which is a cheap wine and which is not so cheap. Trader Joe has done very well with Two Buck Chuck, even after raising the price to three and a half bux. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Shaw_wine

To some extent, it is snobbery. Unless you are a seasoned connoisseur of wines, you may not be able to appreciate the difference. Wine is for everyone. Try everything, like what you like without regret or second guess.
