If a picture is described as being 5 x 7 then it means that it measures five inches by seven inches. This equates to approximately 12.5 centimetres by 17.5 centimetres.

If you are looking for pictures to fit the most commonly available photo frames, then you can either opt for this particular size, or 6 x 4, which is 15 centimetres by 10 centimetres.

An alternative to framing your pictures in this traditional way would be to have a digital photo frame, which will enable you to see a constantly changing selection of your favourite pictures.

Choosing a digital photo frame can sometimes be difficult to do simply because there are so many different manufacturers, so many different types, and so much difference in the price range.

If you find yourself in this position, look for a digital photo frame that has easy to use controls; this may seem obvious but many people don’t realise how irritating it can be when you are trying to alter your pictures and the controls are either too fiddly, or they don’t respond as quickly as you would like them to.

Buttons, which are located on the top of the photo frame, are easier to use than those with the buttons on the back. They should also be labelled clearly, so that you don’t have to guess which button does what.

Nowadays, you will also be given the choice of having a digital photo frame that has touch sensitive controls. This means that they are actually embedded into the frame and have icons, which will light up when they sense your finger.

Before you buy a digital photo frame, it makes sense to have a look at some reviews of the different ones that are on the market. Not only do you want one that is easy to use, but you want one that is going to show your pictures in the best possible way, not one that makes them look poor quality and grubby.
