I-824 is an official application form that is used to request action on a petition that has been approved previously. I-824s are also used to in immigration procedures by an alien who loses his approval notice and the alien is given an option to use the I-824 to request for an additional notice of approval to be issued. The I-824 has to be posted to the office of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Their website address is www.uscis.gov/a>.

The office of the USCIS can also be reached by telephone and their contact number is 1-800-375-5283 which is a toll free number. You can also use the internet and e-mail your queries. Recently delays in the processing of I-824s have been reduced as the Department of State has requested all the consulates to speed up the processing of these applications.
