I would try and find a store that sold an English translation book. Then I would walk around enjoy the vacation.   ...on second thought.....screw the translation book....I would just enjoy the vacation!

That's the spirit, Lily. I would do the same thing--the 2nd part, anyway. Life is an adventure. Adventure is Life. Enjoy the free vacation.

First thing I would do is try to learn a few key words in their language.
Like; Where is the nearest airport?

I think I would look to finding the airport, because many of the airline people speak several languages. Yep, I think so.

You are so practical. But then, you'll lose the surprises and the joy of discovery which are the essence of foreign travel.

2 things.1 I would go into survival mode build a shack in the forest/mountains wherever and live by hunting and cooking until something would happen. 2 I would find people see what language they speak then get familiar with my surroundings, get to a city see if there's anything I can recognize and try to find my embassy. And call home soon as possible

First, I would put on a big smile, and look happy. Then I will get a pen and note pad and draw out whatever things/places I want to find out and show them to happy-looking people on the street or in a store. Together with hand gestures (and lots of cash!) I'm sure I'll do alright.

I feel that way all the time, anyway.  But when  you really want something it is amazing how you can get your point across with gestures.

In reality, I would think I was dreaming! If not, I'd be freaked out by it. I would stand in the middle of the street screaming my head off!!
Otherwise, it depends where I am! Say like, Africa. If I woke up in the middle of a jungle/forest with wild animals I would die of fear.
If I awoke in Sweden, I'd ask around for my auntie who lives there.
Any other place, I'd ask for someone who speaks my native language.
*Not reality, I'd do crazy stuff (like dancing at the market places) for fun, thinking I'll wake up soon and leave the place!!
