I see a subtitle from a show. It is "before work on a Monday morning, coming for a root." What does 'coming for a root ' mean? Thanks.

I think it is Australian slang for a sexual encounter. I've only heard that term used in that context from my Australian best friend.

I hadn't realised it was local slang. I thought it was used in the US as well.

Churchill was right, England and America are two countries separated by a common language. Clearly Australia is wallowing around out there in never-never land as well. >:-/

Dragonfly is correct.

We have a marsupial rat in Oz called a bandicoot that eats roots and leaves. One of my friends had a boyfriend who did the same thing. She called him the Bandicoot.
