I wonder how much intelligence it takes to interrupt an on-line conversation, totally fail to understand what's being spoken about, and then come to the conclusion that we're "stupid". It's a worry.

As to your questions, I think La Paglia is from Adelaide. Dunno about the others. And that author you were talking about grew up 6 miles from the Sydney CBD but has been living on the Blue Mountains for the past 50-odd years. (He sleeps with my wife.)
