- A beneficial point of something or combination of beneficial points: For example- an advantage of a laptop over a desktop computer is that it is portable.
- To benefit or profit for something: For example- It is to your advantage to invest this money wisely.
- A position that is favourable, relative to another position: For example- A better teacher gave us the advantage in the exams.
- In the sport tennis, advantage means the first point scored after deuce has been called. In other sports advantage can also mean the final score of the match.
- "To take advantage of" which means to put to good use. Or it can also mean to profit from something or exploiting something or someone. For example if somebody lends you money, and you take a very long time to give them back, that can be seen as taking advantage of their good nature.
- "To advantage" this means to use something to good effect. For example a sofa may be displayed "to advantage" at the front of a furniture store.
