A demographic is a group of people with a common link... Such as age, gender, sexual orientation, occupation, race, physical status, or intelligence. Usually when a new product, or tv show comes out its marketed to a certain group... For example, baby items would be marketed to child bearing age women. An advertisement for lipstick would appear in Cosmo, but not in HotRod Magizine, because the demographic that would be interested in the lipstick would be females that read Cosmo, and not males that read HotRod Magizine. Where in turn an advertisement for a power tool, or a 4-wheeler would not appear in Cosmo.
