There are 365 days in a year but only 360 degrees in a circle. What happened to the other 5?

There is a formula for converting 360 day circular earth orbit to 365 days.
I made it up.And the result is approx six minutes difference from a sidereal year over one year...
I also programmed a clock to measure time with this principal.

There is no necessary relationship between the number of degrees in a circle and the number of days in a year.

If there ever was such a relationship, it gave way to the better accuracy with which the length of a year can be measured.
