Esquire just means practicing attorney. Attorney at law is the same thing. It just means a licensed attorney who is legally qualified to defend and prosecute. Counselor at law is also the same thing. It all means lawyer.

Holding to the old description of it, it is a shield bearer, meaning they have been knighted. Atty at law is just a lawyer practicing law. Hope this helps.
