The meaning of Motivation is quite simply the drive and ambition that is needed to achieve your goals. We all need that extra push at some stage of our life, whether it be in our work, or everyday chores, or maybe to give up a bad habit. Some of us struggle with everyday things like housework or shedding a few pounds and it just needs a bit of motivation to get the job done and achieve your goal. Self motivation can work for some people. For example, if you are trying to lose some weight, just imagine how you will feel when you can get into your smaller sized clothes. For some it helps by having a photograph of themselves when they were the perfect weight at hand, so when you start to flag a little, look at the photograph and keep going. Or imagine reaching your target at work and getting that extra bonus and enjoying that dream holiday!
If you work in sales you will be quite familiar with being motivated, you may even watch motivational videos or even get sent on courses. As most sales jobs are commission based it is important to keep yourself motivated, especially if you have targets to achieve and the day starts off slow. Some employers will offer cash bonuses or even promotion as well as commission.
It is also easy to become de-motivated. For example, you may be way off your targets at work and know there is no chance of reaching them and you just give up. Also to be around negative people can de-motivate you. It is best to try and take yourself away from that situation and back into a positive mind set and get motivated again!
