Unfortunately - we cannot find any information regarding 'aropathy' to give to you in this answer. However - there is information about "hepatopathy" that can be offered instead. Congestive hepatopathy is a medical condition that involves dysfunction of the human liver as a result of dysfunction in the human heart.

• How does this problem develop?

Congestive hepatopathy often arises as a result of what is known as congestive heart failure. Essentially, this is when the heart can no longer perform its duties to deliver blood around the body.

Congestive hepatopathy is also referred to as nutmeg liver. The reason for this is because the areas of the liver that are affected often appear speckled and look similar to nutmeg grains when they have been grated.

Some of the clinical manifestations of congestive hepatopathy include:

  • Right upper quadrant pain
  • Jaundice/Yellow skin pigmentation
  • Ascites
  • Hepatic ischemia

A prolonged or severe case of congestive hepatopathy has the potential of bringing on fibrosis, otherwise known as cardiac cirrhosis. This is when there is an excessive build-up of tissue that is used to restore or repair organs and other tissue in the body.

  • Rare possibilities

On rare occasions, there is the possibility of the person suffering from congestive hepatopathy could also be subject to liver failure. However - this is rare and no assumptions should be made without consultation with a medical professional.

It must be emphasized that we are not a professional medical organization. We greatly encourage anyone with any questions or concerns regarding this topic to consult with their doctor or other medical professional.
