In order to qualify for unemployment insurance, you have to show that you are actively looking for a job. Some places will require a signature of places where you applied because they don't like to pay out to someone who just wants to take time off. If you just want to take time off, make sure you get signatures of places you applied but have no intent to work and they have no intent to hire. It's like Russian rouletter, if you try too hard, you may get the job, but if you don't try, you get cut from benefits
