IBM stands for International Business Machines. The company has a very rich history, and was first incorporated in the month of June in 1911, on June 15, to be precise. It was incorporated as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company or C-T-R.

The numbers speak for themselves and clearly indicate IBM's position among competitors today - total revenues close to $100 billion, net income of almost $10 billion, assets worth over $100 billion - the big numbers roll on and on.
It is currently the largest middle ware company among all, and also ranked second among software companies.

It is also the global industry leader for IT consulting and services, and has on its rolls over 200,000 employees at last count providing IT services all over the world. Totally, IBM employs over 350,000 employees all over the world, and has a presence in 170 countries, as per data accumulated in 2006.

The current Chairman of the board and CEO of IBM is Samuel Palmisano.

The answer is International Business Machines, and everybody thinks it was the first in the computer field!

WELL NOW FOR THE REAL STORY!

NCR (National Cash Register) was the first in almost all of it!

One of the main was in the 1880's the best I remember when NCR filed a patent on the "Binary Code"! This is the actual language the Computer talks and understands! (This would in two years come to be called "Even Parity")

Then this put IBM in a tail spin and almost shut them down, for they would never pay royalties to NCR! (This was like the Hatfield's and the McCoys thing) So some at IBM came up with the ideal to change what Binary Code numbers stood for the number "0" and ".99999"!

By doing that they had a different b

Binary Code so that came to be called "Odd Parity", and aloud the fight to go on!

Then in the "Cold War" in the 60's IBM sold Computer to the Enemy (At the Time) Russia, and doubled the worth of the Company now moving them up ahead of NCR!

One BIG problem it also moved Russia far ahead in the Space and Nuke Race too!

So IBM betrayed the whole USA to move ahead of and Findlay beat NCR!

I'LL NEVER FORGET IBM IS A TRAITOR COMPANY TO GET AHEAD OF NCR, AND THEY SOLD YOU OUT TOO!

(That and the dates came straight out of my head!)

SO I GUESS IBM STANDS FOR TRAITOR!
