DALET NUN YUD ALEPH LAMED -- are the Hebrew letters for spelling Daniel. It IS a Hebrew name, after all, but obviously popular among the other monotheistic religions (Christianity, Islam) that also consider the Old Testament (Jewish Bible) to be one of their Holy books, too.

Pronounced "Dah-nee-al" in Hebrew, and looks like

דָּנִיֵּאל

in Hebrew characters.

In Sanskrit, Daniel would be written pretty much phonetically, something like:

डॅनिएल

In Hebrew, Daniel is spelled Daniyyel. I don't know Daniel in Sanskrit, but I do know that Dan is Dand.
