Veridical perception refers to viewing of things that are imaginary. It means that the person is hallucinating or seeing illusions. During this time, the mind actually perceives images in such a way that makes you believe it when your eyes look at it. The person is not in control of his mind during that time. The person is not in a sound state of mind when he is viewing things that do not exist.

Such perception does occur when you under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any kind of a controlled substance. It is usually temporary but may cause permanent damages in your mind.
