The suffix 'graphy' is used to convey the idea of writing something. There are many examples that can make you understand the word in the context.

The most popular example is the word 'geography' and if you go inside the word you will find that the word is formed of two words; geo and graphy. Geo is a word that is used when you intend to convey the idea of earth and 'graphy' conveys about writing something. So with the use of the word geography you are conveying the idea of writings about the earth.

There are some other words also that have used the word as their suffix and the most important word for linguist 'lexicography' itself has used the word as its suffix.
