It is a country that is situated in Central America, where it shares its land borders with Guatemala to the west, El Salvador to the southwest, Nicaragua to the southeast, Pacific Ocean, at the Golf of Fonseca to the south and Gulf of Honduras and the Caribbean Sea, to the north.
