What Does Supplementary Mean?

Complimentary angles: 2 angles whose measures add up to 90 degrees.
Supplementary angles: 2 angles whose measures add up to 180 degrees.

If sum of measure of two angles is 180;the angles are called supplementary angles

Supplementary means something which is additional or extra. For example, a supplementary copy of magazine which comes with a newspaper is an extra which piggy- rides on the tabloid as a marketing tactic.

Though supplementary and complementary are the same in daily usage, there is a distinct difference in terms of their usage in geometry. A complementary pair of angles is two angles whose sum equals to 90 degrees while a supplementary pair of angles is two angles whose sum equals to 180 degrees.

A supplementary unit or product usually works in a supporting capacity to the main thing. It is added to make something complete or to cover up a shortcoming.
