It means that a number can only be divided by itself and 1

ex: 2
2 can be divided by 2 and by 1, but no others so it's prime

4 can be divided by 4,2, and 1, so it isn't prime

The term prime basically has a number of meanings the most common one being Prime number. According to maths, a prime number basically is natural number which has precisely two natural number divisors. Any natural numeral which is bigger than 1 has the two divisors 1 and itself, hence a prime numeral has no supplementary divisors. Presently there are unlimited prime numbers as shown by Euclid in around 300 B.C. The initial prime numerals are 2, 3,5,7,11,13 and so on. The characteristics of being a prime number are known as primality, and the term prime is also applied as an adjective.

In view of the fact that the numeral 2 is the only even prime numeral, the expression prime is odd prime is generally addressed to all the prime numerals which are greater than 2.
