Parietal means "relating to or forming the wall of an organ, cavity or a body part. Parietal is also associated with the parietal bones in the cranium. The parietal bones are either of the two irregularly quadrilateral bones between the frontal and occipital bones that jointly form the top and sides of the human skull. Each of the two bones has four borders, four angles and two surfaces. A parietal lobe refers to the part of the brain that lies beneath the parietal bone.
In Botanical terms, the parietal refers to a part which is found on the inside the ovary wall. An authority or power one exercises within the buildings or walls of a college is called as "parietal power." The word parietal was first coined around the year 1425.
