Cats and dogs, elephants and bats, whales and horses, and monkeys and men belong to a zoological classification called "mammals".

Mammals are distinguished from all other types of life by the factthat there young are fed with milk from the mammary glands of the females. In most mammals the young are born fully formed, instead of hatching out of eggs as young birds do.

Mammals are also distinguished by the hair or fur they have on all or some parts of their bodies. They are warm-blooded, and they have a four-chambered heart and a diaphragm.

While most mammals live on dry land, a few, such as the whale and dolphin, live in the water. Some burrow in the ground, such as the mole and many rodents. And still others live in trees, such as monkeys and squirrels. The only mammals that can fly are the bats.
Scientists have arranged the mammals into a number of smaller divisions, or orders. The lowest of these orders, "the monotremes", are mammals that lay eggs. The next order, "the edentates", are toothless mammals. Then come the sea mammals. Then we find "the ungulates", or hoofed mammals.

A mammal is a warm blooded animal that gives birth to live young. Only two mammals lay eggs. These are the platypus and the echidna. For example we are mammals. Mammals usually are covered in fur.

The "carnivorous" mammals eat flesh. The "rodents" are gnawing mammals. The "insectivores" are animals that eat insects. The highest order is "the primates", or mammals with nails, instead of hoofs or claws. Monkeys, apes, and men are primates.

Mammals are usually the ones that belong to the class of vertebrate animals. One can distinguish a mammal with the help of the following; the production of milk in females for the sustenance of little, from mammary glands there on the majority species and particular skin glands in monotremes that give milk; the occurrence of hair or fur; specific teeth; three miniature bones inside the ear; the occurrence of a neo cortex area in the brain; and endothermic or "warm-blooded" bodies. Mammals comprise of nearly 5,500 species (including humans), dispersed in approximately 1,200 genera, 152 families and around 46 orders, even if this varies with the classification scheme. They basically run down from the family of monotremes (e.g., echidnas and platypuses) and therein mammals (marsupials and placentals).

That's so wrong what that other guest said.
That, a mammal is a creature that goes in water?!!?
You really need to study, pal!

I think that the other guest is right, that, a mammal is a warm blooded animal. At least that makes more sense then that one or the other one saying that the word mammal has to do something with "mother"!?! Or the word "mother".
